  • I commenced employment with Onchan School in January 2022 as a Senior Educational Support Officer in their SPC, which caters for children who have varying levels of autism and related social/emotional, behavioural, physical, sensory and/or learning difficulties
  • The work is extremely varied as each child has specific needs and IDPs have to be tailored to their individual strengths/weaknesses while adapting delivery methods accordingly
  • Supporting SPC children in mainstream settings, monitor their progress against IDPs and providing feedback to teachers and parents. Assist with transition days of year 6 pupils to high schools and liaise with outside agencies regarding life skills trips
  • I have attended various courses, including Team Teach, PECS, Signalong and Intensive Interaction.

  • I left this post to care for my daughter who had major surgery in September 2020
