Work History

Mechanic

Mylchreest Motors
03.2022 - Current

I work Mondays and any other days i have free at my Dads in the workshop helping out with anything from the basic oil change to sometimes a full engine re-build. I find that working as a mechanic can be quite stressful as you are working under a certain time schedule and not on your own car so have to be aspecially careful.

Boat Worker

Steve Cleague
03.2021 - Current

I work on a boat during the summer months, at the south of the island bringing people, food and agricultural equipment to the Calf Of Man. I find that in this job you have to be very alert and aware of what is going on as things can switch up very quickly. In this job I have also found that you have to be good at working under pressure as well as having good problem solving, For example, if you were to be tying the boat up and a rope were to snap you would have to act fast to sort it out.

Shop Assistant

Kelvin Tagsta
08.2020 - Current

In this job I work on a Saturday at a tackle shop in peel helping out with stocking shelves, stocktakes and most of the time I have to run the shop on my own as the owner is away, I find that running the shop alone is a huge responsibility for myself.

Skills

Good work ethic - I would say I have good work ethic as I am constantly trying to fill my spare time in with work

Good communication skills - I would say i have good communication skills as I coach Mannor Park school every week and have to present to them what we will be doing in the session and have to speak to them throughout the session

volenteering

Volunteering with a kayaking group offers a unique blend of adventure and community service. Whether it's leading expeditions, teaching safety techniques, or helping maintain equipment, volunteers play a crucial role in fostering a love for nature and water sports. Beyond the thrill of paddling, it's the shared passion for the outdoors that make volunteering in a kayaking group truly rewarding. Through lending a hand, volunteers not only enrich their own lives but also contribute to creating memorable experiences for others, fostering a deeper connection to the environment and promoting active lifestyles.
