  • Provided technical support to the sales force, including accompanied financial adviser and institutional investor visits to improve relationships and develop further distribution opportunities.
  • Responsible for certain institutional investors and key IFA relationships, which included the introduction of significant inward investment.
  • Appointed as an Executive Director on a number of the companies environmental themed funds, including chairmanship of an Authorised Scheme.
  • In representing the Fund Manager, was responsible for the oversight of Fund Board Governance of collective investment schemes, where not an Executive Director.  This included a >£200m UK commercial property fund, an indirect global property fund, hotel investment fund and other property backed investment schemes.
  • Established and responsible for the HR function of the business, including payroll, staff contracts, disciplinary and grievance incidents, writing and developing the company policies and procedures and all corporate tax matters.
  • Supported the Compliance Officer to ensure that the company maintained a comprehensive and relevant compliance oversight program and was compliant in all aspects of the its duties and responsibilities to ensure regulatory oversight visits contained limited areas of concern.
  • Carried out wide ranging investigations into the competence and suitability of financial advisers applying for terms of business.
  • Introduced and maintained the adoption of quarterly risk reviews for each individual collective investment scheme to identify and regularly monitor the impact of key risks for each scheme.
  • Following the resignation of the Finance Director, assumed control of and increased own responsibilities to incorporate the financial management of the business and the financial reporting including the production of audited financial statements and the ongoing relationship with the appointed Auditor.
  • Wide ranging stakeholder management including the Regulator, Press, Institutional Investors, Asset Managers, Financial Intermediaries and Trade Bodies.
  • Directed all phases of most recent investment fund projects, from concept to launch.  This involved carrying out all elements of market research with stakeholder groups to determine product offering and technical structures, working with lawyers to produce the legal documentation, company incorporation, in-house production of the marketing documentation, training the sales force and staff on the product offering, managing the press release with the PR firm including various interviews with trade press, launch initiatives such as identifying key sponsorship opportunities and relevant guest speakers through to distribution launch initiatives to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Influential in gaining various classes of licences to convert the operation into a regulated Fund Manager and the Islands only regulated Fund Promoter.
  • Continued to consistently deliver results in the workplace whilst studying towards and successfully completing a challenging MBA program.
